Have you ever sat and reflected on your life and thought “if I knew then what I know now”?
I know I cannot be the only one.
Turning 29 has made me sit back and think of all the mistakes I have made (especially with my skincare) and how I have grown.
Life will always through curve balls at you, and knowing that when one door closes, there is bound to be an open window. You just have to look for it.
At 23 I was diagnosed with PCOS which helped me understand what was causing my cystic acne breakouts, but that diagnoses did not solve all of my skin issues.
Over the last six years I have tried thousands of skincare products and most did absolutely nothing for my skin. It was not until I began using skincare products that were vegan and clean did my skin start showing improvements.
It is important to treat your skin right and develop a skincare routine to keep your skin healthy. When choosing a skincare routine it does not have to be complex or expensive, you will have to do a little research. My simple skincare routine, when I have had a long day, is as follows
Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel ( I paid $39 in January and use it morning and night)
A hydrating moisturizer, this changes every few months. Find a moisturizer that does not clog your pores – everyone’s skin is different. I use this morning and night.
No Cosmetics Awake Eye Cream, $20 retail value and was featured in our April Naked Beauty Box. I use this in the AM only.
Depending on what time of the month it is (my skin becomes oilier during my time of the month) I will use a toning mist, like the Niu Body Rose Toning Mist that was featured in our June Naked Beauty Box. It retails for $17, and lasts a long time.
